After being taken hostage by unidentified gunmen, the two wives of the chairman of the Kiyawa Local Government Council in Jigawa State are back at liberty.
In a statement on Tuesday night, police spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam verified their release.
As per the report by janescope, the two women were abducted on Friday night when a big group of gunmen stormed their home.
“The two wives of Kiyawa LG chairman have been released by their abductors at Ningi LGA of Bauchi State,” the announcement reads.
The statement confirmed that they have since been reunited with their family, but it said nothing about whether the victims were saved by the police or if the thugs received money in exchange for their freedom.
The payment of the ransom prior to their release was confirmed by a family source to janescope.
