The NPFL board has increased the referees’ salary for the upcoming season

For the 2023-24 season, referees will be paid more by the Nigeria Professional Football League.

With help from GTI Assets Management, a strategic partner of the league, a 30% increase was achieved.

According to NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye, the increase reflects a nationwide trend toward higher transportation costs.

We are not oblivious to the transportation effects of eliminating gasoline subsidies.

He argued that “the right thing to do” would be to increase the Match Officials’ allowance by 30%.

On September 9th, Shooting Stars (3SC) will face off against Plateau United at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan in the season opener.
