During the send-off ceremony on Sunday in Abuja, Prof. Mohammed Adams, the National Commissioner of INEC, congratulated the directors on their retirement.

“You should always focus on the future when you retire rather than dwelling on the past.

“Remember that there is yet more to come. You are all specialists in your industries, therefore this is the start of a new adventure in your lives,” he remarked.

Adams encouraged them to work hard and earn a good living throughout their retirement years.

Instead of being terrified of retirement, he advised active-duty members to carve out a niche for themselves in whatever role they ended up in.

He remarked, “We should be content with whatever position you find yourself in; express gratitude to God and carve out a niche for yourself.”
