Uncomfortable Rest in Enugu State Community as Unknown Gunmen Enforce Sit-At-Home Order

On Wednesday, residents of Enugu State were plunged into a state of dread as mysterious gunmen roamed about the state enforcing the one-week sit-in declared by the Simon Ekpa-led wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

JANESCOPE has learned that the gunmen fired sporadically at the State’s New Market axis, Artisan, Emene, New Haven, Abakpa, Agbani Road, and NOWAS.

The shooters, who wore masks over their faces, were said to have operated in a Siena vehicle as well as tricycles.

Many parents with children at school were seen in a state of panic.

While some parents went to pick up their children, others made frantic calls to school administration to verify their children’s safety.

As of the time of reporting this article, a joint Army-Police force was stated to be on the hunt for the gunmen.

A helicopter was also reported hovering above major cities throughout the state.

All banks, other companies, and schools that had previously opened for the day’s activities have immediately closed.
