This was stated in a statement that NAHCON’s Assistant Director for Public Affairs, Fatima Sanda Usara, signed.

“The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is pleased to announce the approval of the Federal Government for an extension of the deadline for the closure of Hajj Registration,” the statement reads. The revised date is scheduled for January 31, 2024, giving people one more chance to partake in this holy journey.

“Therefore, NAHCON is certain that the Commission would have ascertained the entire cost of the 2024 Hajj prior to the new deadline’s expiration, with the backing of its sister agencies.”

“NAHCON takes this opportunity to inform prospective pilgrims and other interested parties that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has set February 25 as the deadline for signing all contracts and for finalizing payments into IBAN accounts.

“After this extension, NAHCON will have little over a month to complete the payment of all Hajj deposits into its IBAN account in preparation for the Hajj in 2024.

“This extension illustrates the Commission’s chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi’s dedication to resolving stakeholders’ concerns, even though it exceeds NAHCON’s preliminary timeline.”
