A 38-year-old woman named Hajiya Tabawa Ado, who had recently been deported from Saudi Arabia, sadly ended her life by jumping into a creek in Jigawa State’s Ringim Local Government Area.
According to reports, she took this severe move as a result of constant pressure from the agent who sponsored her travel to Saudi Arabia.
According to a local, she was transferred to Saudi Arabia as a housekeeper but was subjected to inhumane treatment.
After attempting to flee and being deported back to Nigeria, the agent requested reimbursement, which she was unable to provide.
CSC Adamu Shehu, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) spokesman for Jigawa State, confirmed the event, saying the woman drowned in the Kafin Kainuwa stream at 7:45 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Her body was discovered the following day and transported to Ringim General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigations found that she had been suffering from epilepsy for several years. She is survived by her husband and children and was laid to rest according to Islamic customs.
