Jose Peseiro has reaffirmed his goal of leading the Super Eagles to victory in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.
Nigeria, the defending champions, will be vying for a fourth championship in Côte d’Ivoire.
In Group A, the Super Eagles will play Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, the hosts.
On the continent, West Africans haven’t experienced success until 2013.
Peseiro is optimistic that his club will once more win the title of finest team on the continent.
“I have had excellent experiences with the Nigerian national team. I can’t deny that being a part of African and Nigerian football is exciting,” Peseiro remarked, as cited by KORAPLUS.
“I told everyone that my goal was to win the Africa Cup of Nations as soon as I signed the contract with the Nigerian national team. We aim to accomplish this by thoroughly researching our opponents in order to win.”
Next Tuesday, the Super Eagles will begin training for the competition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
