The Nigerian international and Napoli verbally agreed to a new two-year contract in the summer, but tensions have since arisen because of a scandal surrounding a TikTok video.
Romano claims that he and Napoli are still unable to come to an agreement on a new deal.
Romano was cited by Caughtoffside.com as saying, “From what I’m hearing guys, at the moment, the beginning of November, there is still no agreement between Napoli and Victor Osimhen.”
“There is still a good chance Victor Osimhen will leave during the summer transfer window of 2024 because the contract is still far from finalized.”
In 2020, the 24-year-old moved from Lille, a Ligue 1 team, to the Naples club.
He netted 26 goals in 32 league games last season, which was a major factor in Napoli’s Scudetto victory.
