‘He’ll be utterly upset,’ says an EPL commentator. In January, Arsenal asked Ramsdale to leave

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been pushed to quit the club by Liverpool great Jamie Carragher during the next January transfer window.

Carragher made the remark after Arsenal’s Sunday 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, in which David Raya started in Ramsdale’s place on the bench.

The ex-defender went on to say that England’s goalkeeper Raya will be “absolutely devastated” after Ramsdale’s phony response to Raya’s vital save in Arsenal’s North London derby victory over Tottenham.

If Aaron “got an opportunity at a decent club and Arsenal were happy with that,” then “I think he will be [leaving in January],” Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher predicted.

He hasn’t exactly flopped at Arsenal. He’s succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest expectations.

I believe Arsenal will consider this and conclude that they may gain a few pounds by selling him. It’s possible that this will occur in January.

As the saying goes, “you never have two goalkeepers at the same level at a club,” and “especially not top ‘keepers.”

I think it’s fantastic that Arteta did it. Okay, I know that it’s brutal. To be frank, though, I don’t think Ramsdale will ever play for the team again. It’s time for Ramsdale to make way for Raya, who is now the top dog. Possible if Arsenal can obtain a good price for him in January.

Carragher said of Ramsdale’s response to Raya’s save, “You know when someone loses the Oscar and they are clapping and happy for the other person? The sight of that made me chuckle. He’s going to be completely crushed.
