The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has set a date for hearing cases filed after the 2023 election.
The decision will be handed down on Monday, September 25.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate, made the announcement on Saturday.
Rhodes-Vivour stated on X that he has been informed that the ruling would be handed on Monday.
“We have just been informed that judgment on our election petition at the tribunal will be delivered on Monday, September 25th,” he said.
Rhodes-Vivour, along with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Abdul-Azeez Adediran, filed separate petitions with the tribunal.
The two parties are seeking the tribunal to annul the re-election of governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, citing electoral fraud among other allegations.
Each of them wishes to be considered the election winner.
