The Katsina government outlaws big parties at night

The state of Katsina has outlawed large-scale religious, social, and other nighttime gatherings of any kind.

In a statement provided to media on Saturday in Katsina, Commissioner for Information and Culture Malam Bala Salisu-Zango made the announcement.

“This ban includes large religious and social public gatherings, with the exception of required prayers,” he declared.

However, the commissioner stated that authorization is required for such events held during the day.

“Permission from the Police Divisional Officer within the local government area where the gathering will occur must be requested when it becomes essential to hold the gathering.

“Public safety and interest are best served by this announcement,” he declared.

The commissioner declared that the prohibition was effective right away.

Salisu-Zango consequently pleaded with the people to rigorously abide by the instructions because those who do not will be subject to the full force of the law.
