In Taraba, bandits kidnapped a son and killed one businessman.

One person was slain and a businessman and his son were taken hostage on Thursday when ten or so kidnappers broke into a mosque in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.

According to a source, the event took place near Jalo Junction in the Saminaka neighborhood of the Jalingo metropolis during maghrib prayers.

The insider went on to say that the businessman’s son is reportedly a secondary school student.

According to reports, the kidnappers have kidnapped more than 30 local residents in the past few months while also killing numerous others, including a police officer.

He claimed that the kidnappers, who operate from mountains across the river Lamurde in Ardo Kola local government Area, have pushed many local residents to leave the area.

It was impossible to reach DSP Usman Abdullahi, the Taraba State Police Command’s spokesman, for comment on the incident.
