The commitment was given on Wednesday by Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, Managing Director of NIWA, in a conversation with reporters just following the organization’s 3-Day Special Retreat for 2024, which took place at the Edge Drive Hotel in Lokoja, Kogi.

He declared that the goal of NIWA’s efforts would be to provide safe water transportation while also advancing the country’s economy.

At the retreat aimed at improving performance and service delivery as public workers, the managing director and all of the authority’s general and area managers reportedly signed a bond, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

“We must take this action because the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the honorable minister of marine and blue economy signed a performance bond together with the permanent secretary.

“The purpose of this bond is to assess performance and ensure that all Federal Republic of Nigeria ministers are aligned with the federal government’s objectives.

They must simultaneously strive for excellence in keeping with Mr. President’s themes.

Therefore, I expect the NIWA employees who have already signed a performance bond with me to do everything in their power to advance NIWA in all spheres.

“This is because the minister is positioned for that, and I can assure you that the ministry of Marine and Blue Economy will handle the commercial leg of governance,” the minister stated.
