After months of rumors that Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), was being removed, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf finally commented.

“I heard some worthless people saying on the local radio show that there was a deadly blow-for-kill between the SSG and me,” the governor claimed.

“You know, some unemployed people see politics as their livelihood. They always try to spread rumors to stir up unneeded controversy, but they have failed miserably this time around.”

The governor clarified that the SSG is now recovering from his illness and that he will assume responsibility for his role and pick up where he left off.

He remarked, “We cannot allow the position to be vacant due to its sensitive nature. Just because we appointed the State Head of Service as acting SSG does not mean that Bichi was fired.”

Governor Yusuf declared that no amount of propaganda will stop his government from accomplishing its objectives during his speech during the inauguration of the new permanent secretaries and special advisers in the Government House’s Africa House on Tuesday.
