Badaru, minister of defense, said his country will prioritize the blue economy

On Wednesday, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, the Minister of Defense, announced that the Federal Government was prioritizing investments in the modernization of military equipment to ensure the protection of people and foreigners.

Badaru made this declaration in his goodwill speech to the 2023 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference, according to a release issued by Mrs. Victoria Agba-Attah, Director, Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Defense.

“Crafting a Strategic Blueprint for Security and Prosperity” was the overarching subject of the conference.

While investing in the modernization of military equipment, the Nigerian government will also pay attention to the blue economy, climate change, and the unmanned spaces, as stated by Badaru, who was represented by Dr. Ibrahim Kana, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary.

He claims that peace and stability are the responsibility of the Nigerian Defense Ministry and the Nigerian Armed Forces throughout all of Nigeria, from the surface all the way to the bottom of the blue sea.

He stated, “Indeed, the government is redoubling its efforts by offering more platforms like ‘Falcon Eye’ and the deep blue initiative.

The government has spent a lot of money on these projects to improve security in the Niger Delta and elsewhere along Nigeria’s coast.
