After one month in the United Kingdom, an unidentified Nigerian man was detained for sending obscene texts and images to a 14-year-old girl.
The man was seen in a viral video addressing questions while being detained by officials in the United Kingdom.
During questioning, he admitted to being in an illegal explicit relationship with a juvenile.
“I spoke to a young lady, she told me she was 13 years, we just talked about friendship and all,” he said.
While the interrogator corrected him that the child was 14 years old, she asked him if he had been sending images of his private parts to the juvenile, to which he said, ‘yes,’ while pleading for forgiveness.
Remember that in June 2023, a Nigerian named Cyril Kenneth was arrested by authorities in Belfast, UK, after being accused of dating children.
Kenneth, who arrived in February for his master’s degree, was detained after many children between the ages of 14 and 15 reported him with evidence of him grooming and sexually harassing them, according to a video uploaded by warriors of children.
Kenneth sent unsolicited obscene photographs to several of the victims, sought for their house addresses from others, and invited one of them to his house for sex, among other troubling communications.
In the United Kingdom, the maximum term for mailing an indecent image of a kid is ten years in prison.
Furthermore, under Section 67 of the Serious Crime Act 2015, the maximum term for sexual communication with a child is two years in prison.
In the case of rape, the maximum sentence for child rape is life imprisonment.
If the victim is between the ages of 13 and 15, and the sex was mutually consenting, the defendant might face up to two years in prison if convicted.
In addition, if the victim is under the age of 13, the defendant might face life in prison if convicted.
