In his inaugural address, the new Apena lamented Egbaland’s insecurity, notably kidnappings.

He said traditional rulers that allow kidnappers to roam are suicidal.

“Obas who allow kidnappers are suicidal. Be cautious from now on. If Kabiyesi lets me, every Oba who enables kidnappers in his region will be imprisoned because you know about them.

“There is no way you cannot know about locals,” he remarked.

The Apena asked traditional rulers to work with the retired military commander Alake to eliminate criminals from Egbaland.

He also told the youths to wake up and maintain Egbas leadership records.

“Egba youth, get to work. We no longer boasted that Egbaland had the best lawyer, president, or speaker. How are we maintaining such records? Let’s get up, youths, and keep the flag flying, Bankole added.

He promised Alake his loyalty and dedication to Egbaland’s growth.

Former Ogun State governor and Senator for Ogun East Otunba Gbenga Daniel, his predecessor Chief Segun Osoba, former House Speaker Dimeji Bankole, and former High Commissioner to the UK Sarafa Ishola attended.
