In Jigawa, police apprehend a security guard for stealing school property

Police in Jigawa State have arrested Hassan Adamu, 30, a security guard, for allegedly stealing property from the Government Girl Unity Secondary School in Kazaure.

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the command’s spokesman, confirmed the arrest in a statement to janescope.

He said, “One Bashir Ahmed, a Vice Principal at Government Girls Unity Secondary School Kazaure, reported at Kazaure Police Station that on Sunday at about 1700hrs, he discovered that some of the school properties were stolen by unknown persons.”

After receiving the report, he said, a surveillance squad attached to the Kazaure Division stormed one shop at KanGada quarters in Kazaure LGA, where one Hassan Adamu of Bornu-Kishi village, Yobe State, who happened to be a security guard in the school, was arrested with two sacks containing the following items:

He stated that among the things found were a printer machine, minicomputers, ceiling fans, and a disc receiver.

According to DSP Shiisu, the suspect admitted to using a master key to unlock the store and steal the products after being interrogated.

He stated that the investigation is still ongoing in order to retrieve the remaining stolen items, and that he will be prosecuted in court for prosecution.
