President Bola Tinubu has urged security services to rescue the remaining female students of the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State, who were recently seized by terrorists, amid different reactions to the country’s return of terrorist operations.

The decision follows frightening allegations that a group of robbers broke into a hostel and kidnapped five federal university students.

Tinubu, while denouncing the conduct, characterized it as a heinous act of abduction through his media aide, Ajuru Ngelale, on Sunday.

The President considers that there is no moral justification for such horrible crimes against innocent people whose only “crime” was pursuing a good education.

“While the President expresses heartfelt condolences to all families directly impacted by this tragic incident, he affirms that his administration has a solemn duty to protect every Nigerian citizen, and in keeping with this commitment, assures the families of the abducted students that no effort will be spared in ensuring their safe return,” Ngelale says.

“The President pledges that the federal government is determined to keep educational institutions safe havens of knowledge, growth, and opportunity, free of terrorist threats.”
