See The 5 Points, Peter Obi Wants To Take Tinubu And Shettima To Court

Posted by

Peter Obi files a petition opposing Tinubu’s victory and requests five prayers. He filed the petition around midnight on Tuesday at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja.
Mr. Obi and the Labour Party co-filed the petition, which named the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr Tinubu, Shettima Kashim (vice president-elect), and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as respondents.

This was on the front page previously, but the exact items in the petition were not included, therefore I am presenting the petition summary.

1. Tinubu/Shettima are ineligible to compete.
Mr Obi sought the Presidential Election Petition Court to “judge” the presidential election petition.

Because at the time of the presidential election on February 25, 2023, Messrs Tinubu and Shettima “were not qualified to run.”

2. All votes for the two should be thrown out.
He asked the tribunal to “find that all the votes recorded for” Mr Tinubu “in the election were wasted votes, owing to the president-and elect’s Mr Shettima’s non-qualification.”

3. They didn’t get 25% in the FCT “That it be determined that the 2nd Respondent (Mr Tinubu) was not entitled to be declared and returned as the winner of the presidential election held on 25 February 2023 because he failed to receive one-quarter of the votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.”
