Security agencies should implement strategic management to maintain success, the Customs Comptroller advises

For long-term success, Mohammed Umar, the Comptroller of Customs for the Katsina Area Command, has pushed sister security services to include strategic management into their day-to-day operations.

Speaking on Tuesday in the capital of Katsina State, Umar emphasized the significance of vision, mission, and core values in accomplishing organizational goals at a seminar hosted by the Nigerian Customs Services’ Katsina Area Command in association with the Institute of Strategic Management Nigeria (ISMN).

In order to incorporate cutting-edge techniques into the operational frameworks of security services, Umar emphasized the necessity of working with organizations such as ISMN.

“I am fully aware of the critical role that strategic management plays in any organization’s success and long-term viability, whether it is in the public or private sector,” he stated. Identifying opportunities, reducing risks, and analyzing our surroundings are all included in the process of strategic management. As a result, it is essential to be able to adjust to new difficulties and take advantage of emerging possibilities in a world that is changing rapidly.

In his contribution to the conversation, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu Danmusa, the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, emphasized the critical nature of strategic management in tackling both domestic and international issues, speaking on behalf of Katsina State Governor Malam Umaru Dikko Radda.

Danmusa emphasized the value of SWOT analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs), pushing participants to use the knowledge they learned at the conference to advance Nigeria.

Danmusa also expressed the expectation that attendees will apply knowledge gained from the seminar to advance the country’s pursuit of efficient management in the face of complex obstacles.
