The census will take place from March 29 to April 1, 2023, according to Chairman of the Commission Nasir Isa Kwara, who also guaranteed a reliable process that cannot be rigged.

According to him, a platform has been set up where young Nigerians can apply to work as ad hoc workers, and facilitator training has already begun.

He claims that because the ad-hoc personnel will be hired from the areas where they live and work, recruiting will be local in nature.

After meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the NPC Chairman briefed State House reporters. He said the exercise will be different from past ones marked by controversies since it will be carried out using cutting-edge technology.

He noted that every building in the nation has already been coded for the purpose and that the Commission will make use of satellite photos and the Global Positioning System (GPS).

The designation of the enumeration regions has been finished, according to Kwarra, who also confirmed that the actual exercise will take place between late March and early April.

Speaking out against the troubling security situation in various portions of the nation, he hoped that the exercise could go off without a hitch in those areas.

From March 29 through April 2, Kwarra’s personnel will be out in the field counting people.

Additionally, he pointed out that the technological instruments that would be used will be able to code structures and landmasses, describing details like location and sceneries, among other things.

Non-Nigerians will be included in the count as long as they are present in Nigeria at the time of the exercise, he added.

The Federal Government set out N40 billion for the National Population in the 2023 Appropriations Act.
