Members of the Local Government Councillors Forum have been given an assignment by Abdulmalik Mohammad Sarkin Daji, Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, to collaborate in order to promote economic growth within the state.
At the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International meeting Centre in Minna, Sarkin-Daji made this statement during the forum’s annual meeting.
The speaker praised the councillors forum leadership’s efforts and their foresight in hosting the conference for the first time in the state, which will help them become more knowledgeable about legislation and parliamentary procedures.
Additionally, he urged Niger State and local governments to work together to further the people’s economic development.
He states: “Effective synergy and collaboration between the two tiers of government is necessary for economic development between state and local governments to be actualized.” We also pledge to assist the forum in accomplishing its objectives.
Earlier, the chairman of the House Standing Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and representative for the Rijau Constituency, Bello Alhaji Bako, gave the forum the assurance that the Assembly will support it in carrying out its duty.
