Although Mason Greenwood has just completed a loan transfer to Getafe, Manchester United has promised to “continue to offer its support” to the striker.

The 21-year-old’s professional football career ended in January 2022 after he was arrested.

Nonetheless, seven months ago, Greenwood had all accusations against him dropped, including attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault resulting in actual bodily harm.

United said he would not play for the Red Devils again after an internal probe concluded in August following the conclusion of the criminal case.

Greenwood officially joined Getafe on loan for the upcoming season on the final day of the transfer window.

United claims that this move will allow Greenwood to “rebuild his career” after leaving Old Trafford.

United issued a statement after the transfer saying, “Mason Greenwood has signed for La Liga side Getafe on a season-long loan, subject to international clearance.” Greenwood will be allowed to start over in his career after leaving Manchester United.

To Mason and his family, “the club will continue to offer its support during this period of transition.”
