Mmesoma claimed she received a score of 362, however JAMB contradicted her claim, stating that she received a score of 249.

The case sparked differing opinions on social media; nonetheless, JAMB stated that Mmesoma had committed a serious infringement.

“The Board would like to reassure Nigerians that its system was not tampered with or compromised because the candidate simply falsified a copy of a result slip of a candidate named ‘Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle’, who sat the UTME in 2021 and scored 138.”

“In the meantime, the Board’s management has withdrawn her 2023 UTME result and barred her from sitting the Board’s examination for the next three years, after considering the serious infraction committed by Ms Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma and in accordance with its established procedures.”
