Posted by The governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, authorized the payment of N1.2 billion on Tuesday in order to completely offset the gratuity of the state’s 2014 retirement of civil officials, which occurred ten years ago.
Additionally, the governor approved N320 million to be used for monthly pension payments.
On Thursday, the retirees would receive checks, according to Mr. Sina Adeyeye, the press officer at the Office of the Head of Service in Akure.
The governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has granted N1.2 billion to fully offset the gratuity of the 2014 batch of retirees as part of measures to resolve the backlog of state retiree gratuities.
“Those who retired from the local government in 2011 and some of those who retired in 2012 received their gratuities, while those who retired in 2013 received theirs in 2023.
“This is in addition to the approximately N320 million the government has set aside for the payment of benefits to all other pension categories,” Adeyeye said.
