The tribunal, presided over by Justice S.B Belgore, ruled that the petition submitted by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Mohammed Barde, was without merit.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, proclaimed Inuwa the winner of the election, according to the JANESCOPE.

However, the PDP candidate, who was dissatisfied with the election results, petitioned the court to overturn the governor’s victory, stating that the poll was plagued by irregularities such as vote-buying.

In its decision on the case, the tribunal determined that the claims were unfounded, finding that the petitioners had failed to show the claimed electoral irregularities.

As a result, the panel dismissed the petition.

The court also dismissed a plea submitted by the African Democratic Congress, ADC, challenging Governor Yahaya’s and his deputy, Manasseh Jatau’s election.

The ADC’s suit was based on purported inconsistencies in names on certificates presented by the deputy governor to INEC.

The plea, however, was denied on the grounds that it was a pre-election concern.
