This broken jinx may herald the former Governor’s spectacular comeback to frontline politics, as he met the President at an event hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in honor of Tinubu.

Tinubu acknowledged Ambode’s participation at the occasion, saying, “I’m glad to see Ambode.” Thank you so much, Akin!”

Tinubu was in the state for the first time as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during the Sallah break.

Remember that there were rumors about a tense relationship between the incumbent Governor, Sanwo-Olu, and his immediate predecessor, Ambode, over the contentious manner in which he (Ambode) was removed from office, denying him a second term.

This was the first time since Ambode’s departure in 2019 that all four governors of the state have been seen together at a public event since 1999.
