The new Ohimege Igu of Konton-Karfe, HRM Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu, was turbaned just one day after Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isa Koto was removed from office.
Tuesday’s turbaning ritual was held at Kogi LGA, Kogi State, at the Palace of the Ohimegye.
The Janescope remembers that on Monday, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello removed three kings from their thrones and exiled them to Niger State.
Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isa Koto Samuel, Ohimege Igu Konton-Karfe, Adayi Onimisi, the Obobanyi of Emani, and Sam Bola Ojo, the Olu Magongo, are the three overthrown monarchs.
Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu, the newly appointed Ohimege Igu Kotonkarfe, asked the populace to work together and embrace peace in the wake of the recent developments.
He assured everyone that he would support them.
