Ex-Convict Escapes From Ogun State After Murdering a 12-Year-Old Minor by Rape

In Abeokuta, Ogun State, one Mercy Orija is charged with killing 12-year-old Janet Fakeye after raping her.

Following the incident at the Fehintoluwa community in Idiya, Abeokuta-North Local Government Area of Ogun, Orija, a reputed ex-convict, is believed to have fled.

According to information obtained by NAIJALOADED, the fleeing suspect was previously found guilty of assaulting a Point of Service employee in the neighborhood last year.

According to reports, the suspect dragged the victim into a residence when the victim was on an errand as a Junior Secondary School student at the Army Day Secondary School, Alamala, Abeokuta.

The victim’s father, Sanjo Fakeye, confirmed the incident and said he is requesting justice from the authorities.

“I gave Janet some cash so she could get detergent to wash her school uniform. I went to her friend’s house to ask for my daughter when she hadn’t returned after a while, but she claimed not to have seen her.

“I later proceeded to report that my daughter was missing at the police station at 8 o’clock.

We were on our way to the police station when I got a call from the neighborhood saying that my daughter’s body had been located.

“After Mercy tied her hands, her legs, and her mouth, he raped my daughter to death.

“After he performed the crime, he dumped my daughter’s remains into a structure next to his home. I seek justice.

The father stated that the suspect fled through the back door while leaving detergent and blood streaks behind in his home.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state’s police public relations officer, stated that the police were pursuing the suspect.

The suspect’s recent release from jail detention was confirmed by Oyeyemi.

“It’s true that we’ve started looking for the suspect in person. The suspect is a recently released ex-offender from prison.

He would shortly be detained and brought before the law,

said Oyeyemi.
