David Mark laments Na’Abba Akeredolu, Na’Abba

Former Senate President David Mark has expressed shock at the death of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Ghali Na’abba.

This was said by Mark’s Media Adviser, Mr Paul Mumeh, in Kano on Wednesday.

He described the deaths of the two leaders as the departure of two political titans, claiming that their deaths left a tremendous void in Nigeria’s political class.

He emphasized Akeredolu’s achievements in the legal profession before to entering politics in order to contribute to the development of his home state, Ondo, and Nigeria in general.

He stated that the country has lost a frank, sincere, and unapologetic advocate of the rule of law and human rights.

“As a lawyer and President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), he advocated for the common man while never compromising his professional standards.”

“As governor, he implemented policies and programs that directly benefited the people.” “Akeresolu was the governor of the people,” he explained.

Speaking on Na’abba, Mark stated that the previous Speaker was at the forefront of the democratic battle and helped establish the groundwork for the current democratic regime.

He stated that Na’abba would be remembered as the speaker who pushed for legislative independence in Nigeria.

“Na’abba stood to be counted when it mattered,” he went on to say.
