Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, has expressed regret for running in the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary race against President Bola Tinubu.
Akpabio stated that if he had known the president’s objectives for Nigeria, he would not have run in the primary race against Tinubu.
Speaking in Lagos State, Akpabio said the state served as an example for other states in the country.
“With what the president has done in Lagos, we are assured that Nigeria is in safe hands,” Akpabio said.
“If we had known this was your plan for the country, we would not have run against you in the party primaries.”
“These few decisions you have made have acted as a catalyst for the development of the country.”
