Posted by The Benue State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) has voiced dissatisfaction with the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to annul Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s election.
The party’s Benue State Chairman, Group Captain Stephen Adah (Rtd), said this to journalists in Makurdi.
Adah stated that the party, as a group devoted to supporting fair and reasonable judicial systems, finds it troubling that the verdict does not appear to embody these ideals.
“The NNPP government in Kano has put smiles on the faces of the oppressed in Kano,” he said, adding that “we call on the relevant authorities to launch an immediate review of the judgement in order to prevent a looming dispensation of unequally metered justice in the country.”
“The pillars of our nation’s democracy are at stake and should not be treated lightly.”
He further stated that the NNPP will challenge the judicial robbery against Kano’s good people, stating that in the end, truth and light must triumph over lies and darkness.
