Martinez hurt himself toward the end of the previous season.

The 25-year-old seemed to have fully recovered throughout the summer, but this turned out to be false.

The international Argentine defender missed Man United’s wins over Burnley and Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

Before Saturday’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace, the Red Devils announced on their website that Lisandro Martinez would be sidelined for an extended period after re-injuring the foot he originally hurt in April.

The Argentine defender suffered an injury earlier this month during a Premier League match against Arsenal. Next steps will be determined after further evaluation.

Everyone at Manchester United hopes that Lisandro can make a speedy recovery so he can return to action.
