Eragbe Anslem, the party’s youth leader, has been placed on administrative leave due to accusations of falsification and usurping the positions of the Labour Party’s National Chairman and Secretary.
The Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Arabambi Abayomi, announced his suspension on Friday, October 21.
Abayomi accused Anslem of awarding certificates to organizations without the permission of the National Working Committee or the National Chairman while speaking to reporters at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
Anslem, who has been temporarily replaced by Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, was called to appear before the National Working Committee (NWC), but he was unable to explain himself, according to the LP’s National Secretary. He has now served a six-month suspension.
Ahanotu, who was introduced to the media as the new Youth leader, made a commitment to the party to support its victory in the general elections in 2023.
