Posted by Prof Wole Soyinka, a renowned Nigerian dramatist, stated that President Bola Tinubu ignored his advice not to run for president.
During a courtesy visit to Tinubu’s Lagos residence, Soyinka stated that his intention was to check on the President and his wife, despite Tinubu dismissing his advise.
Soyinka indicated that he presented the President with a seven-point agenda during the visit, calling the experience “embarrassing.”
Soyinka revealed to reporters afterwards that he was uncomfortable with his visit, recalling his prior attempt roughly five years ago to dissuade both Tinubu and Atiku from running in order to make place for younger contenders.
Soyinka expressed concern for Nigeria’s future leadership, stating that his aim in the latest visit was to assess how Tinubu and his wife were dealing with the country’s issues and to give Christmas pleasantries, despite the President’s disrespect for his past advise.
