On Sunday, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, adopted the new name at its Annual General Assembly in Uyo.
The Nigeria Professional Football League was the previous name for the top division.
The start date of the 2023-24 NPFL season has yet to be confirmed.
Enyimba won the NPFL title in 2022-23.
