Police will begin physical screening of constables on January 8th

The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has set January 8, 2024 as the date for the start of physical and credential screening for applicants to the rank of Police Constables in the General Duty and Specialist Cadres.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesperson, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi. The screening will take place around the country from January 8 to 24, 2024.

Shortlisted applicants are required to present the following items at the screening locations: Evidence of physical/mental fitness from a government-approved medical facility, evidence of good character from each applicant’s village/district head, and original and duplicate certificates of origin certified by the Local Government Chairman or Secretary.

Applicants must also provide original and duplicates of their National Identity Card/slip, original and duplicates of their ‘O’ level result(s), birth certificate/declaration of age, application form print-out, duly completed guarantor’s form, and invitation slips.

The statement advised the general public, particularly applicants, not to do any criminal acts such as falsification or forgery of documents submitted for screening, as offenders will be detained and prosecuted.

It emphasized that the application and selection process is free and would be conducted through official channels, and that any unethical behavior should be quickly reported to authorities for appropriate action. According to the statement, the Police recruiting Board is made up of devoted and disciplined personnel who will ensure a transparent and merit-based recruiting process free of corruption.
