In Lagos, a party agent was allegedly arrested with N3.2 million in cash.
On Saturday, March 18, a party agent was allegedly apprehended in the Lagos neighborhood of Oshodi with N3.2 million in cash.
This occurred shortly after a woman claiming to be a ward leader in Lagos’ Ejigbo Community was apprehended along with a herbalist on the Isolo/Egbe route.
According to Vanguard, some military troops on patrol were on their way to answer to a distress call when they intercepted some people at one of the pooling units in Oshodi after being informed of the harassment of voters by thugs.
The bag of an anonymous agent drew the attention of military troops, who demanded to know what was inside.
The party agent (names withheld) grudgingly opened the door with great hesitation.
The contents of the bag were discovered to be naira notes.
Military patrol teams reportedly responded to at least 24 distress calls from different polling units in the state’s Oshodi, Jakande Estate, Ejigbo, Ajao, and Oke-Afa regions between 8.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.
A voter’s head was fractured by a thug, according to one of the distress calls received from Igala estate on the Isolo/Egbe route.
At around 11.45 a.m., while attending another one at the Borokini hall on the same axis, a tricycle with three people was flagged down.
While one of the occupants, a woman whose name could not be determined immediately, claimed she was on her way to her ward in Ejigbo, others just stated that they were.
They stated that they were going to vote.
When the two guys were searched, it was discovered that one of them had kneaded charms around his waist.
When questioned further, the self-proclaimed Ward leader stated that she had hired the services of the herbalist and the other passenger to accompany her to her ward.
Three of them were bundled into the Military patrol van. Several alleged thugs were also apprehended.
