Ondo Governor Akeredolu is remembered by the NGF

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Kwara State, has expressed condolences over the death of Ondo State Governor Olurotimi Akeredolu (SAN).

AbdulRazaq praised Akeredolu as an excellent statesman who made indelible footprints in public service in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Rafiu Ajakaiye, on Wednesday in Ilorin.

“My heartfelt condolences go to the Progressives Governors’ Forum, the government and people of Ondo State, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and the immediate family of His Excellency Olurotimi Akeredolu SAN, my dear brother and colleague.”

“His Excellency would be remembered for his courage, patriotism, and immeasurable contributions to Nigeria’s constitutional and sociopolitical development as a frontline lawyer and conscientious politician with a progressive bent.”
“As heartbreaking as his departure is for all of us, we find solace in his fine legacies as a gentleman and statesman.” “We pray to God to rest his soul and protect his family,” the message said in part.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Akeredolu died early Wednesday morning at the age of 67, following a long illness.

After a medical vacation in Germany, he returned to the country on September 7.
