This summer, Boniface signed with Die Werkself, a team from the Belgian Pro League’s Union St. Gilloise.
The 22-year-old has a perfect 6-for-6 record in league play for Xabi Alonso’s squad.
The striker won the award for best player in the Bundesliga in August.
The Rookie of the Month award for that period was likewise his.
Boniface has been terrific. Okocha told LiveScore.com, “It’s good to see one of our own succeeding.”
With him, we have hope. That proves we have no shortage of talent. Nigerians need to pull themselves together.
The good news is that some of these players are only just entering their peak, making this an exciting period for Nigerian football.
The challenge now is figuring out how to coax the greatest performance from them when they play for Nigeria.
