Sen. Adams Oshiomhole (APC-Edo) has stated that if he had lost his Senate bid, his blood pressure would have soared.

On Saturday, Oshiomhole said this at a post-inauguration/thank you party hosted in his honor by friends and well-wishers at his country home in Iyamho, Etsako, Edo.

“I don’t know if you voted against me, but my blood pressure will now be 240/0360, assuming I’m still alive.”

“Because the opponent’s jubilation would have been such that they would have come and locked my small door and broken my small bones, but you said no,” Oshiomhole told his audience.

Oshiomhole stated that many governors lost their aspirations to become senators, and that it would have been a shame for him to have lost as well.

After leaving office as governor, he thanked the people of Edo North for voting for him as a senator.

He also congratulated the people for voting for President Bola Tinubu in the presidential election, noting that Edo-North was Tinubu’s solitary victory in Edo.

He vowed to try his best to represent Edo North, adding that he has an obligation to guarantee that the Tinubu government benefits the state more.

“Across the country, sitting governors ran for Senate, and many of them lost.” I left office seven years ago, and my people have continued to honor me with success; I cannot thank you enough.

“Afeanmi people, when you return to your wards and units, please tell your people that I am very grateful.”

“I told you during the campaign that if you wanted to give me one vote, give it to Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

“I am very proud to say and to repeat today here and now that in each of these six Local Government Areas, Bola Ahmed Tinubu won every ward, and Adams Oshiomhole won every ward,” he remarked.

“I will proudly carry the result, and Mr President, this is my certificate from the people of Edo North who voted for you.”

He guaranteed the public that Tinubu will alter Nigeria in the same way that he did Lagos.

“When Tinubu becomes president, those who say Edo is not like Lagos will be alive because he will not only make Edo like Lagos, but better than Lagos.”

“So, my people, those who say Edo no be Lagos, Tinubu cannot control us, please inform them that Tinubu is now the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” he stated. (NAN)
