Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, is the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor in Lagos State.
On Saturday, Jandor visited Badagry Division to meet with local stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders.
On the campaign trail, he claimed to have the support of influential Badagry residents, including the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who is also from the city, to win the 2023 election.
Speaking to residents of Wards G and F in the Badagry Local Government area of Ajido, Jandor asserted that he is the rightful next governor because God has predicted that the time will come when a son of the soil will hold that position.
The people of Badagry have supported candidates from other regions to serve as governors of Lagos State, said Jandor, but the moment has come when this should no longer be done.
People could belong to another party, he said, but they would still support him because he is their son.
“All the Deputy Governors and APC party chairmen that they have been providing us, what have they accomplished,” he remarked.
“I can confirm that even Cornelius Ojelabi, the chairman of the APC in Lagos State, will support the PDP in 2023.
Before I started the race, I told him. He would be looked after by me if I were elected governor.
“I will be the Governor of all; I will not be a PDP or APC Governor. In contrast to what they accomplished in Lekki while they were in power, they have not been able to finish the Badagry Expressway.
“We’ll build a bridge in Badagry once we’re in office. Fear not; there are just eight hours left on election day, and the results cannot be rigged. We have consistently defeated them in the Badagry Division.
