It’s getting to him in the EPL – Former Manchester United player speculates on when Ten Hag might be fired

If the Red Devils’ play doesn’t improve, former star player Robbie Savage has said that manager Erik ten Hag could be fired before Christmas.

Savage maintained that Ten Hag is now under pressure at Old Trafford and said that Man United have already been eliminated from title contention in the Premier League despite having played only five games.

This follows Man United’s 3-1 home loss to Brighton in the Premier League earlier this month.

It’s one of the worst starts to a Premier League season in their history. “The way the team is playing is really, really poor, and some of the substitutions, like when [Rasmus] Hjlund was taken off at the weekend, are very strange,” Savage said to Planet Sport Bet.

That Brighton winning at Old Trafford does not surprise me at all. Erik ten Hag is under intense pressure to improve the team’s play to the point where each player can contribute to the team to the best of his or her skills.

If the team isn’t winning football games, the person in that seat will be under enormous pressure right away. Any manager at Manchester United must be able to lead the team to victories on the football field.

“Ten Hag is far from that, so the remaining Premier League games this season are absolute must-wins.

Realistically, after only five games, they are already out of the title fight, and I don’t see them getting anything against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Given the recruiting, I expected United to challenge City, but they are very far behind.

“Ten Hag should be given till at least Christmas because the new players need time to buy into his philosophy and way of playing,” but “if things don’t get better come that time, I think it might be time for a change.”
