International Ruth and Eber Pollard Scholarship 2023

Ruth and Eber Pollard, former President and Treasurer of the Guelph Historical Society from 1972 to 1993, founded the society. This prize will be given to a student who exhibits a strong interest in Canadian history as well as continued participation in exercise, wellness, or athletics.

The University of Guelph will grant one $1,000 award in the fall, and the recipient must be registered.

Guelph University is a comprehensive public research institution located in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1964 as a merger of the Ontario Agricultural College (1874), the MacDonald Institute (1903), and the Ontario Veterinary College (1922), and has since expanded to a student body of about 30,000 (including those at the university level).

As of fall 2019, the Humber campus, Ridgetown campus, off-campus degree enrolments, diploma enrolments, and part-time students) and 830 full-time faculty (academic staff). It provides 94 undergraduate degrees, 48 graduate programs, and 6 associate degrees in a variety of fields.

The University of Guelph faculty hold 23 Canada Research Chair positions in natural sciences, engineering, health sciences, and social sciences research. The first scientific validation of water on Mars, the Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer (APXS) on board the Curiosity rover, and the Barcode of Life project for species identification are among the academic achievements.

Criteria for Qualifying for the Ruth and Eber Pollard International Scholarship

Candidates may be Canadian or non-Canadian PR-PP.
To study at the university, applicants must complete international entrance standards for Undergraduate Programs.

Candidates must meet the University of Guelph’s English Proficiency Standards for Undergraduate Programs.

Foreign countries are eligible.

Undergraduate level

The award is worth $1,000.

The number of awards is one.

Application Procedure: Candidates must be accepted into an undergraduate program at the University. Following that, applicants must submit to the department of History by May 15 with a letter of up to two pages describing their academic credentials in History as well as their continuous commitment to exercise and wellness.

The application deadline is May 15, 2023.
