The commission stated that it did not have enough time to modify BVAS in time for the governorship and state assembly elections this weekend.
The elections will now take place on Saturday, March 18, 2023, according to the announcement.

Saturdays are for weddings, and there are couples who have set a date for their wedding on that day because they know the election, which has been postponed by INEC, will end on that day.
