If Awoniyi scores against the Blues, he will become the first African player in Premier League history to score in eight straight games.

The 26-year-old’s goal in the second minute against Manchester United last weekend made him tied with Emmanuel Adebayor and Mohamed Salah for the all-time record of seven consecutive games in which he scored.

The game ended 3-2, with Nottingham Forest losing despite having a two-goal lead.

The Nigerian national team player has netted nine times in the Premier League over the course of the last seven games.
