In Enugu, the EFCC has arrested 29 people on charges of online fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s Enugu Zonal Command has detained 29 alleged Yahoo boys, or internet scammers.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced in a statement posted on its verified X Twitter that the arrest took place in a sting operation in Enugu State on September 15.

Ebubechukwu Egbo Victor, Ugwu Felix Chenedu, Chizu Ifejika, Chris Emmanuel, Chukwuka Onye, Arinze Ede, Charles Aforka, and Ejeh Monday Nelson were all named as suspects.

Among the rest are Kingsley Onyedikachi, Okechukwu Ezeka, Enejeh Paul, John Samuel, Ohia Excel, Nicholas Okereke, Omeh Kamsichukwu Joseph, Chigozie Egwuatu Chiderem, Emmanuel Johnson, and Johnson Onuorah.

The EFCC claims that the suspects’ possessions included two Lexus IS 350 automobiles, 45 mobile phones, seven laptop computers, one Wi-Fi, and one hard drive.

“The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged in court soon,” the statement said.
