Robbie Mustoe, a former Middlesbrough midfielder, has criticized Kai Havertz, claiming the versatile attacker is ineffective in the midfield role he plays under manager Mikel Arteta.
This comes on the heels of Arsenal’s devastating 2-1 Premier League loss to Fulham.
Havertz has three goals in his last seven Premier League games for Arteta’s team, although he was ineffective against Fulham.
Notably, the Germany international failed to record a single shot on goal or finish a single dribble during the match.
“The struggles of Kai Havertz continue, and this is what it is, he’s not effective, he doesn’t do anything in there,” Mustoe explained on a recent episode of The 2 Robbies.
“We said that potentially by making those runs around Jesus to start on the bench by the way that it might be a way for him to add goals and to be effective and this was one that wasn’t.”
