The recent confrontation in Kaduna between the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and certain Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officials has been denounced by Close Watch, a civil society organization.

The group’s National Coordinator, Biodun Odele, stated in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja that the issue could have been handled without escalating into a fight in a public place.

Odele emphasized that in order to overcome contentious issues amongst them, government institutions must work together.

He claims that the current Chief of Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, maintains high moral standards and will not tolerate disorganized behavior from his subordinates.

As important components of our nation’s security framework, the EFCC and the NAF are both government organizations, so they shouldn’t put one another through any kind of humiliation.

“The Chief of Air Staff will never tolerate disruptive behavior from his staff, either in public or privately.

“He disapproves of actions that humiliate the government overall as well as the military.

“We implore government agencies to collaborate effectively, particularly in light of the nation’s ongoing security challenges,” the organization declared.
